Tarot Cards and their meanings blog series

Over the next couple months we are going to be featuring Tarot Cards and how to translate their meanings. Tarot cards have been used for thousands of years to help predict the future. A Tarot card deck consists of 78 cards in two categories all shuffled together. The two categories are the Major Arcana and Minor Arcana. The Major Arcana tends to deal with major life changes. The Minor Arcana tend to deal with day to day life.

There are many ways for psychic readers to do a Tarot Card spread. A spread is how the psychic reader lays out the cards after shuffling them. Popular spreads are the Celtic Cross and 3 card spread are very common. The reader may also choose a spread that focuses on planets, astrology, relationships or fortune. It is up to the reader and the type of question the client has to decide which spread is best for the reading.

If a specific spread has mainly major Arcana, it is likely the person being read is facing major life changes. If the spread has mainly Minor Arcana, the reading will be dealing with daily life issues.

Where the cards show up in the spread and how they are positioned give them different timing and meanings. The choice and style of the Tarot Card spread is up to the reader and client. How the Tarot cards are aligned may indicate positive or negative meanings. Bigger spreads may give more information, but a smaller spread may be better for a direct question.

The best Tarot Card readers seamlessly know what each card means and how to translate the meanings to their clients. The translation of the cards and the intuition of the reader are essential parts of an accurate Tarot Card Reading.

The Tarot Card deck featured in this photo is the Universal Waite Tarot Deck.
