Bring in the New Year with Good Luck!

There are so many New Year's traditions that are centered around renewing energy, bringing luck and good fortune. Here are some of our favorites:

Place a lit green candle on top of a dollar bill - it will bring good energy, luck and money throughout the new year.

Eat black eyed peas on New Year's day - there are many different reasons why this is thought to be lucky. But the easiest description is, " “Eat poor on New Year's, and eat fat the rest of the year.”

Eating greens (collard greens) on New Year's day - Greens symbolize dollars and are thought to bring in wealth for the new year.

The first person to enter into your home during the new year is thought to be a great influence into your life for the coming year.

Kissing your partner at midnight is thought to bring love from them the whole year.
Eating 12 grapes before midnight on New Year's Eve is lucky. One grape for each upcoming month.

You are not supposed to clean your house or wash your hair on New Year's day. It is considered unlucky.

Using sage is good to do on New Year's eve. Be sure to open one window to let the negative energy out with the smoke.

Nothing is guaranteed, but it is fun to try these new year's traditions! And - it can't hurt to try to bring positive energy in the new year!

Happy New Year, 2016!
