We get quite a few comments from clients about regarding children. Since Halloween is a fun time for the child in all of us, I thought this would be a great opportunity to shed some light on how to deal with children astrologically.

If you are a teacher, parent, babysitter, aunt, uncle, grandparent, neighbor, coach, or just know a few children – these suggestions may help.

ARIES – Never, ever ignore your Aries child. This child usually knows what he/she wants and will let you know about it in no uncertain terms. Remember to watch over them carefully. They have a tendency to try to run even before they learn to walk. Make sure they stay far away from sharp objects. The temper tantrums just let off steam and should generally be ignored. On the plus side, Aries children tend to be very affectionate and can be generous to a fault. If you want your Aries child to do well, simply present a challenge and watch him/her go to town.

TAURUS – It is usually a waste of time to try to force a Taurus child to do something he/she does not want to do. This child may seem placid and quiet. However, if pushed, they may be very stubborn. The way to get this child to respond is to generally focus on logic and love. As a rule, Taurus children respond to harmonious colors and sounds. They tend not do well if the home environment is discordant. Generally, music lessons are a great way to keep a Taurus child entertained and busy.

GEMINI – Is the sign of twins. These children generally are very talkative and have wings on their feet. The parent should be prepared to put on some running shoes. They really seem to be everywhere at once. Gemini’s are usually friendly, alert, and nosy. Too much restriction may cause depression. Gemini’s can often do two things at once and concentrate on both. Their hands are often a real treasure because they are so sensitive. Magic tricks, musical instruments, or blocks may amuse them. Be careful to teach your Gemini child the difference between truth and fantasy. They may be confused.

CANCER – Tends to be a loner at heart. Cancer children generally need lots of loving in the form of lots of cuddles. Cancer children are usually very sensitive and emotionally needy. Encouragement and positive feedback are often needed to help. Cancer children, for all their sensitivity, seem to be natural and compassionate leaders. When you feel down or need some TLC, your Cancer child will often come through. Home and hearth is, as a rule, very important to your Cancer child. Remember, to make home a haven.

LEO – Your Leo child will generally be happy unless ignored. Leos seem to love to get their own way. Leo children usually thrive on love and applause. They can appear to be a little full of themselves and may need to be instilled early with a sense of fair play. Think of yourself as a lion tamer. Be gentle, fair and firm. Leo children may be a lot of fun and enjoy games of chance. Their passions usually run hot and they seem to fall in “love” easily. As a result, their early love life may be one drama after the other. Never embarrass your Leo child as a form of discipline. If you do, you probably will not get the result you want.

VIRGO – Your Virgo child can be quite the charmer. This sign often produces truly fussy eaters. Virgo children may be the teacher’s pet. These children are often quick to point out faults in others, but generally don’t take well to criticism themselves. A pet is may usually be an important tool to teach a Virgo child that perfection is not necessary for love. This child actually may gravitate toward healthy eating despite their pickiness. While they don’t appear to need physical demonstrations, they usually crave physical closeness. Education of a Virgo child is of the utmost importance. Also, try to ease their minds because they often tend to worry, worry, worry.

LIBRA – Libra children appear to be full of grace and have a truly engaging personality. They are generally so well behaved that you can be lulled into a false sense of security. It would be very unusual for a Libran child to throw a temper tantrum – unless you are trying to force them to make a decision or do something they really don’t want to do. Libran children tend to be cautious and can usually avoid accidents and mistakes. These children tend to take truth and justice seriously. Your Libran child may need long periods of rest in order to recharge. Don’t think for a minute that the child is lazy. Remember, it may be easy to spoil a Libran child. Gentle, but specific questions may be necessary to ascertain what is really going on.

SCORPIO – Scorpio children tend to be born with a mind of their own and often actually enjoy a good fight. A Scorpio child, as a rule, needs a parent that can gently stand firm. If a Scorpio perceives that they are the strong one, there may be difficulties ahead. Scorpio children are usually extremely perceptive. If you break your word or lie to a Scorpio child, they often will make sure that you regret it. Scorpio children generally have beautiful eyes and a magnetic personality. Try to direct your Scorpio child toward worthy goals by keeping them very busy.

SAGITTARIUS – Sagittarius children tend to be cute and cuddly. If you won’t cuddle them, they will often find a blanket or teddy bear. While they usually have a sunny disposition, they may not respect you if your requests are not logical. Keep a first aid kit handy. Sagittarius children generally have a need to explore. It is also generally a good idea to teach Sagittarius children the value of money at an early age. Curiosity may assist these children in school – if they are not bored. It is probably a great idea to make sure they participate in field trips and travel in order to keep their interest.

CAPRICORN – Capricorn children seem to be born mature. They usually look you directly in the eye and appear to be very old souls. Do not insult this child with baby talk. This child usually knows what he/she wants and will not hesitate to make their needs known. Home and family are generally very important. Capricorn children will probably only have a few, select friends. They may need a little prodding to loosen up and play outdoors. They tend to like organized activities like arts and crafts classes. Museums, historical sites and beauty seem to attract children of this sign.

AQUARIUS – Aquarian children tend to be futuristic. They often forget to live in the moment. Their thought processes seem to be unusual and all their own. Good luck in figuring out or keeping up with them. Generally, they do not like to be told what to do. This child is probably a bundle of amusement and contradictions. Make sure that you watch them in traffic. They may be oblivious to what is actually going on around them because they are thinking abstractly about the bigger picture. It is generally a great idea to get them involved in physical activities. If you don’t provide physical activities, they may just sit and think all day.

PISCES – Sensitive Pisces children generally have no concept of time. They seem to march to their own drummer. These children are usually dimpled, magical charmers who seem to need lots and lots of attention. Try to make sure that they are exposed to music and dance to appeal to their need for the arts. Read them lots of stories. They usually like poetry. Pisces children can be very sensitive and usually prefer the company of adults to that of other children. Pay attention to their dreams, they seem to be tuned in to the universe. It may be a good idea to draw them out of their own little world in order to insure that they don’t live in a fantasy.
