Mecury is in retrograde in Libra starting Monday, September 7, 2009 and continues through Sunday, September 29th, 2009. The effects of this one will last into the middle of October. Just in time to start school. Should be interesting for parents, teachers and children. If you are taking classes yourself, be diligent with details.

This is usually not a good time to panic. Just pay attention. Organize yourself and others, backup files, double check everything – especially faxes, emails, notes from school (if they even make it home), appointments, legal documents, etc. Try to make sure that you know and understand what is going on!

Remember to choose your words carefully as they may easily be misunderstood. This is probably a good time to finish tasks and avoid starting anything new (too bad school is starting for some that week). The signs that will generally feel this retrograde the most are Libra (not too much diplomacy please), Aries (try not to be too impatient), Cancer (no pouting), and Capricorn (you cannot control everything).

Libra is ruled by Venus. So, relationships will probably be pushed to the forefront. The general inclination will be to rethink relationships. There will probably be an emphasis on communication and whether or not there is real partnership. The opportunity to clear up and resolve conflicts of the past (don’t bring up something new) may finally present itself.

It is interesting to note that you may reconnect with a past flame, estranged family member or old friend. This may provide a chance to bring closure and healing to old issues. It is probably a terrific time to take a hard and objective look at yourself and how you influence relationships. Are you too wishy washy? Are you too impatient? Are you too clingy? Are you too controlling?

On the flip side this is generally a good time to take a look and see if your relationships really meet your needs.

Let’s face it. Libra is ruled by Venus. Librans typically value beauty, partnerships, peace and diplomacy. You will note that I did not list truth. Truth is sometimes sacrificed in order to preserve the peace. Libra in Retrograde may provide a real opportunity to make sure that you are truthful and not just “keeping the peace” in a relationship. Are you benefiting from this relationship? Does your relationship meet your needs? Does your partner really hear you? This will probably be a time to really examine and learn how to reach a MUTUALLY beneficial balance (Libra) in your relationships.

One warning. During the first days of this retrograde you should probably be especially careful of traffic incidents and road rage. Toward the middle of the retrograde misunderstandings with loved ones may pop up. Remember you should generally take it slow in all areas of life.
