The Year 2009 may present us with interesting opportunities and challenges, and it will probably demand that we move forward. Innovation and getting rid of all the old baggage that has hindered progress seems to be prominent this year. It looks like we will move toward renewed prosperity after a period of purge.

2009 appears to be a year of economic trials and tribulations. The evening news tells us that we are in trouble. Where were they during the last several years leading up to this mess? Playing the blame game and continuously looking back seems to me a big waste of time and effort. Why be a step behind, when you should be a step ahead?

The first part of the year may demonstrate influences by Jupiter and Neptune. Opportunities for true spiritualism, love and hope should continue to flow throughout the year. Unfortunately, some of the planets are in interesting positions this year and seem to rub each other the wrong way. This may be reflected in different, universal ways. Stress management should be an important part of how you deal with all the turmoil.

Spring will probably be a great time to make a new start. Please don’t forget yourself. Exercising, gardening, letting the creative juices flow, meditation, spiritual examination, etc. are a great way to handle the stress caused by the battles between the old and new swirling around you.

There are eclipses in April that support a cleansing of relationships (remember that relationships involve more than just you). May’s planetary influences could challenge people to focus on faith and hope. June seems to be more positive with an almost “angelic intervention” taking place that supports the spirit. This spiritual support of love, hope and truth continues through the Summer Solstice. This is not to say there won’t be battles.

This would generally be a good time to stay on top of things. Anticipating and reacting to life in an informed manner should allow you to anticipate situations and take charge. This is generally not the time to be delusional or put your head in the sand.

By September there will be a New Moon that opposes Uranus. This could signal great change. As things simmer away, it is generally important to prioritize carefully. It could be tempting to focus on finances, but Venus and Jupiter in Libra may make romance and beauty an important consideration. Finding a “love at first sight” may actually happen for some.

As we move into the Autumn Equinox, harmony may finally come to the forefront and calm things down. The combination of planets through the end of October seems to highlight relationships and lends support to the establishment of new patterns that may assist in handling economic situations. Strangely enough, there may be a strong focus on relationships and the resulting confusion rising from difficulties because of the emphasis on the establishment of new patterns.

As we move into November and December, the planets seem to refocus on the economy. It also appears that there may be an exciting upswing in new business, technology, and foreign investment.

As December ends, there may be stress over economic concerns as the struggle between the old and new flare up. However, solid agreements and compromises may finally be pushed through that satisfy both the practical and the ideal.

2009 seems to be an up and down year of “paying the piper” and opportunities for great strides in new growth. Obviously, this year may present a real challenge.
