Happy Holidays

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

With Thanksgiving kicking off the Holiday Season, be sure to take a breath and take some time for yourself. Soak in a tub (I like lavender bath salts), read a short story, drink some herb tea, meditate, get your nails done, go to lunch with a friend, snuggle with a loved one, take a walk with your pet, admire snowflakes (if there are any available), reflect on all the blessings we receive, the personal gifts we share with others, and give thanks for all of it.

The end only portends the beginning of a New Year. What does the New Year hold? I think it holds something new and interesting for all of us. We all can look forward to life’s mysteries as they unfold.

Thank you for all the referrals! Sharing this type of experience with a friend is truly a wonderful way to open up and show that you care. I am constantly amazed at all the new clients that are excited about finding us because of a tip from a friend.

I also want to thank each and every one of you for the kind words, loyalty and thoughtfulness you have shown us throughout the year. Watch for the Holiday Flier with a copy of the watercolor I painted especially for this Season. I hope you like it. I had fun doing it. I did another snowy scene because of the many requests for me to do so.

Take care, be safe, and enjoy the Holidays with gusto. Don’t forget to use the flier. Take some “you” time.

Holiday Stress

Monday, November 12th, 2007

Hi everyone,

Well, the holidays are fast approaching and it is time to become organized and lose the stress of the holiday season. Here are some tips to help relieve the pressures of finishing everything on time.

Start organizing now.

Set a holiday budget- decide in advance how much to spend on each individual and stick to it. Make a list!

Start shopping now- the earlier the holiday shopping is finished, the more you can relax. Mark the person off the list after purchases are made. I find if I shop and wrap early that by the time the holiday comes I have forgotten what the gift is so write it down.

Save the receipts and mark on each one whose gift it goes too. Makes it easier for them to return just in case.

Purchase all wrapping supplies now so you can wrap the presents early.

As soon as you purchase a gift, take it home and wrap it. Then you will not have a ton to wrap all at once.

Purchase holiday cards soon and start addressing and stamping them right away. Then you can just complete a few a day and will not have to write a whole ton all at once.

Plan the holiday menu’s in advance. Predetermine who is making each dish, don’t try to make the whole meal yourself and forget about perfection. Be yourself, have fun and enjoy some wine too ;-)

These steps will save time and hopefully allow you to enjoy the holidays instead of stressing about a ton of things that have to be completed at the last minute. Good luck and have an excellent holiday!
